ASPRI-IPI welcomed representatives from ExxonMobil for an insightful visit aimed at exploring potential collaboration in safety training and workforce development. The visit began with an extensive tour of the AITC, where ExxonMobil representatives were introduced to the training centre’s state-of-the-art facilities. This included demonstrations of the centre’s training setups, which are designed to enhance experiential learning and skill development within the process industry. During the visit, ASPRI-IPI provided an update on its ongoing Hybrid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) project. The project integrates cutting-edge learning methodologies to create immersive training experiences. ExxonMobil shared their concept of incorporating experiential learning into their site training programs, modeled after the “Safety Street” initiative implemented at other ExxonMobil sites. This concept involves creating a series of mock-ups that demonstrate the importance of safety safeguards in key areas such as Work-at-Heights (WAH), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Operational Equipment (OPE), and Confined Space Entry (CSE).
