PERFORM WORK AT HEIGHT

Introduction

This course is designed to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely perform work at height in construction and other industries. Participants will learn how to properly check and use Work at Height (WAH) equipment in accordance with relevant legislation and safety guidelines. The course covers the proper use of fall arrest and fall prevention systems to mitigate risks. Additionally, learners will be trained in self-relief techniques for harness suspension trauma situations. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to work at height safely and effectively.

The competency unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in performing work at height in construction and other industry sectors.

The learning objectives are:

  • Perform checks before and after use of Work at Height (WAH) equipment
  • Perform proper use of WAH equipment in accordance to relevant legislation and guidelines, including evaluating use of fall arrest and fall prevention systems
  • Perform self-relief techniques during harness suspension trauma situations

7.5 Hours (6 hours training + 1.5 hours assessment)
