This course focuses on process pipe fitting, equipping learners with the knowledge and skills required to install, assemble, maintain, and test pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The curriculum covers the safe implementation of safety measures at the work site, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Participants will gain hands-on experience in performing pipe work, including hot and cold tie-ins, and conducting testing procedures. By the end of the course, students will be proficient in handling various tasks within the process piping system, ensuring safety and quality in installation and maintenance.
The job roles(s) / occupations that this unit would be relevant to may include operators, technicians and supervisors across all process sectors in the R1 framework, who requires to carry out piping works.
Course Alm
A process pipe fitter is one who performs fitting works and assembles piping projects involving processes such as marking out, cutting forming and finishing with the aid of fabrication tools, machines, jigs and fixtures in accordance with WSH rules and regulations pertaining to working in Process Industry.
The work he/she performs includes the following:
CE 1.Perform bolt and nuts installation and removal
CE 2.Perform steel pipe threading
CE 3.Perform flange makeup
CE 4. Perform hot and cold tie-in processes
CE 5.Perform hydrostatic pressure testing

On completion of this competency unit, learners have the knowledge and application skills to lay out, fit-up, install, assemble, machining and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and for related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for process piping system which covers:
